  • What are you doing to help Women & Girls thrive in Cricket?

We have a separate women and girls committee with an agreed 5 year plan to help develop women & girls cricket at Bournemouth CC. We have 2 softball ladies teams, 2 girls teams at U13 & U15 and this season introducing a pathway for these girls into women’s hardball cricket with a new 2nd team for Wessex Women, playing in the Hampshire women’s cricket league.

A number of our girls have been supported and are now part of the Dorset County Age Group structure.

We have a designated girls only training night, our lead coach is Victoria Pack.
We champion girls playing in the ‘boys’ leagues, in the summer of 2024 we had girls playing in the U8’s, U10, U11 & U13 ‘boys’ (mixed) leagues. We also had our first girl ‘invited’ to join the academy set up at Bournemouth CC in the outdoor season of 2024.

In 2025 we are for the first time running a girls only All Stars, led by our lead coach Victoria, but supported by our existing U15 & U13 girls.

  • What are you doing to protect Women & Girls in Cricket?

In the summer of 2025, Bournemouth CC are hoping to extend the existing club house, as part of this, there is the plan to convert part of the existing club house into a separate and dedicated changing room for women and girls. Currently women & girls have to change in the toilets. We want to create their own space and believe we would be the first in Dorset to do so.

We have worked hard to create a safe and welcoming environment where women and girls can come to play and enjoy the game of cricket. Some of this is through infrastructure, but some of this is through providing the time and space for dedicated women and girls only training.
