  • What are you doing to help Women & Girls thrive in Cricket?

Created a women’s section three years ago and have consistently focused on expanding this area of our club. We now have three indoor softball teams and will be going into an outdoor season with two softball and one hardball team. We have dedicated coaches for each team, creating environments for specific player development and tailored training sessions to boost player performance. We run all stars each year, getting roughly 50/50 boys and girls, introducing and nurturing young girls interest in cricket. We are looking at creating a girls only juniors set up to develop their community and provide easy pathways to our mainstream junior set up. We have also showcased club talent and had our first team captain involved in a South Yorkshire representative side. Our club have also given women spaces in Sunday friendly games, as well as involvement in Saturday cricket fixtures.

  • What are you doing to protect Women & Girls in Cricket?

At committee level there is equal representation of the men and women’s set up, each with equal weighting on decision making. A chairman, who is also women’s first team coach, dedicated to expanding and protecting the women’s section. Each coach having been through relevant safeguarding training. We also have the ECB club mark accreditation, highlighting our ability to create a safe environment for all.
